Clint (or CJ, as I know him) Latham returns to the podcast for a second almost exactly 3 years after his first appearance on Episode 178. This time we’re talking about something brand new – Lucca Veterinary Data Security! Here’s a little bit about Lucca from their website:
Clint’s goal is to help veterinarians realize the value of their data & help them take steps to protect it. So that they can focus on what is most important: quality care for our four-legged family members. While working and speaking with veterinary hospitals all across the country, Clint saw a drastic increase in the number cyber attacks to the veterinary industry. Clint decided to build a solution to keep hospitals protected while simultaneously keeping IT costs under control. Providing Veterinary Hospitals the services they need and nothing they don’t.
On this week’s show we talk about cybersecurity, how cybercrime actually works, why veterinary practices are prime targets for cybercriminals and a lot more. I learned a ton about cybersecurity and cybercrime and it’s fascinating (also a little frightening). We also talk about what led to Clint having to take the entrepreneurial leap, the messy breakup from his previous employer, his podcast The People of Veterinary Medicine, and how it’s amazing as we approach our 20 year high school reunion that so many of our little skate punk friends (including yours truly) ended up as entrepreneurs. Fun chat, great dude!
