Felicia Hernandez is Head Coach at Orangetheory Fitness Lowry, and she’s also the very first person I talked to when I arrived for my first session back in November 2020. Her energy and her positive attitude were infectious, and the worked out kicked my ass in a way I hadn’t experienced in probably 20 years. It was so thorough, so dynamic, and so all-encompassing, I signed up for more almost immediately.
On this week’s show we talk about Felicia’s own journey through OTF starting as a college kid just attending as a member, up through the front desk, onto becoming a trainer, and her current role as Head Coach. It’s an insightful and fun journey as we touch on how coaches prepare for workouts, how music playlists get created, what an “audition” for a new trainer looks like, and more about the company in general. Felicia and I also share our favorite and least favorite types of workouts (they’re all great, but we naturally have our own preferences), and then reminisce about where we used to hang out during our respective times in Fort Collins.
What can I say? Felicia is a delight, and I adore all of the trainers at OTF Lowry. Shoutout to Coaches Jackie and Logan, who I see frequently. Shoutout to to Coaches Chanty and Frank who I haven’t gotten the opportunity to train with, but I’m going to rectify soon! It’s been fun challenging myself and creeping my way back into respectable shape, and I couldn’t ask for a better group of folks to help guide me.
