Dude, it’s SPILLY!

Ryan Spilborghs is one of my all-time Top 3 favorite Rockies (the other two, since you’re likely wondering, are Todd Helton and Nolan Arenado). The reason is that I loved his play, and more importantly, I loved his personality. He was a a big part of the huge beating heart of this team, and I always adored him for it.

On this week’s episode, we talk about if he ever had designs on being a broadcaster (he didn’t – which I found surprising), how his current role as Rockies broadcaster found him, his philosophy of not turning down opportunities, why he didn’t get annoyed at me for texting him for over a year to set this up and a ton more.

More? Like what? Well, like this:

  • What was your favorite opposing park to hit in and why?
  • Who was your favorite opposing pitcher to hit against? (This answer is awesome and hilarious considering just how good the opposing pitcher is)
  • What was your favorite Rockies commercial?

In short, Spilly is the guy you hope he is. He was a great player, a terrific broadcaster, an extremely down-to-earth guy, and just a great dude to have a conversation with. I loved this episode deeply, and I hope you will, too.
