Catherine de Medici Jaffee is a producer and founder of House of Pod. She spent many years as a National Geographic Explorer on the Turkish/Armenian/Georgian/Azerbaijani borders, she’s produced and consulted for Radiotopia and Gimlet, and she loves giving people chicken eggs.
While the only part of that I cannot verify personally is her love of giving people chicken eggs, I’m happy to report the rest is true, at least according to my interview with Cat on this week’s show. I’ve never come across anything like House of Pod, and as a podcaster who has been at this for more than 4 years, I’m thrilled that it exists now. On this week’s show, Cat tells us about why she fell in love with podcasting, the incredible circumstances in which she became intimately acquainted with the form, and the full array of services House of Pod offers.
Cat has a fascinating background, striking intelligence, incredible conversational skills, and a warm personality. All of those attributes are on display in wild abundance on this week’s show. If you have ever considered starting a podcast, wondered about the ins and outs of producing a show, or simply love to learn more about the things you love, this is an episode you will adore.
