Welcome to 2015! To kick off the new year, and because I love the company so much, all throughout January I’m featuring Geeks Who Drink Pub Quizzes!

That’s right, we’re on the road to Geek Bowl IX, and to get you in the proper frame of mind, we will be spending the next four weeks talking to someone new within the company. Here’s what you can look forward to over the next four weeks:

January 28: The Geeks Who Drink founder

This week’s guests are (Evil) Rob Knight McEwen, Russ Esposito, and Julio Trujillo of the Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz team The Slumpbusters, probably the toughest pub quiz team in Denver, and one of the toughest pub quiz teams in the nation. These guys have been playing together since the early days of Geeks Who Drink, were introduced to each other by the company’s founder (which he has lamented ever since), and have racked up the accolades.

They’ve won all 3 Denver Rumbles in the Pub, regularly clean out the competition at their usual spot The Irish Snug, have finished 2nd four different times at Geek Bowl, and won the whole thing once. On this week’s show they share their origin story, discuss what makes them so fearsome, and the chilling effect they sometimes have on a bar.
