This Week’s Episode (11.3.14): Sarah – CONFIDENTIAL Series

This week’s guest is Sarah, a second grade school teacher in the Denver Metro area. She is the 3rd entrant into the Confidential Series, and we talk about the life of an elementary school teacher. Why is this episode part of the confidential series? I wanted to feature and highlight the day-to-day work of a teacher without worrying about speaking on behalf of a school, a district, or the entire educational superstructure. This is a slice of life podcast, not an exposé, so it’s simply much easier to keep things relatively anonymous for the sake of avoiding superfluous bureaucracy. My mom was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years, and I watched how hard she worked every day of her career, so it’s important to me to illuminate the work of one of the most important contributors to society. Sarah and I discuss her demanding workday, the schedule that looks so easy at first blush but ends up pummeling you, standardized testing, and a whole lot more.

The bell rings on this podcast on Wednesday, November 5. Please sit down crisscross applesauce, spoons in the bowl (if you don’t know what that means, you’ll learn on this episode), and download us on iTunes, stream us on Stitcher, or listen at the homepage.
