Hi there! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been on this page. Where have I been? I’m glad you asked! I left one show I was doing back in July and decided I needed some anonymous downtime. I had some surgery. I’ve been focusing on client work. Mostly I’ve just enjoyed laying low and recharging my creative batteries.
Time to crank those back up! And what better way to get back into the swing of things with a solo episode where I don’t script myself, don’t edit whatever comes out, and just let this thing stand as a monument to whatever I happened to be feeling at the time of recording. In this episode’s case, here’s more or less what came out:
- I talk briefly about the end of my time on Happy Friday
- I’m headed for more surgery, so I talk about that
- I talk about creative burnout and why self-care is so hard for professional creatives
- I tease a very big blog series I’m working behind the scenes on that will be 5 posts a week for 10 weeks straight that feels like some of the best writing I’ve ever done
Truthfully, I never really remember what I say in the fugue state I record these in. But you weirdos always respond to these episodes, so here you go. Hope you enjoy it! Hit me up on the socials – joatpod across platforms.
