What are three of the things I love most? Punk rock. Radio. Denver.
So, if I’m celebrating my 6-year anniversary of being a show, I’m doing it in style with a dude hugely responsible for Denver being such an amazing music town. I’ve got NERF from 93.3 KTCL talking with me (remotely, of course) about the present and future of terrestrial radio, what makes KTCL unique in the national radio landscape, some of his favorite shows, and a ton more. We have very similar tastes and things we love, so this chat is among the most fun I’ve ever done.
Also, NERF is responsible for not only KTCL, but Punk Tacos as well. If you have an HD radio in your car, most new cars do, and you’re a punk fan, you will absolutely fall in love with this station. I’ve never had a station hew so closely to my sensibility. It’s insane.
If you stick around for one reason, stick around for NERF’s story about hanging out with Dave Brockie (aka Oderus Urungus) from GWAR when he’s not in character. Thinking about it even now, I may never stop laughing.
On a personal note, I’m intensely grateful for being able to do this for six-plus years. And I believe now more than ever we need good conversations, connection, and passion. I’ve got the best damn podcast in Denver, and I’m looking forward to bringing you a ton of awesome content in the coming weeks. The conversations we have here matter, and they matter because you’re there to hear them.
So, if you’ve been with me from the beginning, or you’re just now coming to the show for the very first time to hear me interview NERF, you have my infinite gratitude. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life, your day, and your entertainment choices. I adore you.
You can find NERF on Instagram here, and on Twitter here. And dammit, listen to Punk Tacos here.
This episode is available on iTunes for download, Stitcher for streaming, a billion other podcatchers I’m too lazy to name, and the Jon of All Trades homepage.
