I met Mike Henderson (pictured above holding a boom mic) for the first time last week. We chatted at his house and recorded the conversation. What resulted was an extraordinarily fun, lively discussion about – and this is not an all-inclusive list – the band Cannibal Corpse, the films of Ed Wood (Mike’s own company is called Plan 9 Studios), how those who work on a lazy Adam Sandler film feel about the quality of what they’re helping to put out into the world, the decline of Robert DeNiro and Jack Nicholson, and, oh yeah… we talk about his work as well.
It’s fun when you meet someone for the first time and connect like you’ve known each other for years, and this is one of those chats. We’re immediately at home with each other which accounts for us basically going all over the map topic-wise, and for the larger-than-average volume of profanity in this week’s show. There’s a ton of interesting info about how to make it as an audio engineer in both music and indie filmmaking, but trust me, the riffs alone are worth tuning in for.
Join us Wednesday, October 14 for this week’s show. Available on iTunes and Stitcher.
I LOVE your podcast. I’m iesrentted in being interviewed for inspiration for people to live during these hard times and during personal droughts living doing one right thing to do a day. You can read my blog listed in the website text box above. However if not, no problem. I’m writing to tell you I LOVE YOUR PODCAST. I’m 46 and never even knew what a blog nor a podcast was. So one day after reading one of my books studying for computer class, I set out to find both. I first researched blogs, and ended up starting the blog referred to previously. I never made it to the podcast so I asked about it among my peers in class. They told me how to do it and I sought out NPR. You were the first podcast series I downloaded and I haven’t regretted it since. Thank you for what you do.
